Streets Boast More Than Blooming Flowers

Artwork Popping Up Throughout the ParishVeteran's Blvd.

Between Friends of Jefferson the Beautiful, Jefferson Beautification Inc. and Jefferson Parish’s own Parkways Department, the parish is getting a fresh new look. Landscaping is being installed, flowers are being planted and renowned artwork is being displayed for public enjoyment.

The most recent public art installation showcases George Rodrigue’s three-dimensional rendition of his famous “Blue Dog” on Veterans Boulevard at Severn Avenue. Depending on the view, the dog may be blue, red or yellow. The piece follows the installation of Hunt Slonem’s Toucan sculpture at the corner of Veterans and Clearview Parkway in December.
